The view from Gateway park at the Mississippi River shoreline. The infamous Dred Scott case was tried here in 1858. This is NOT located in "East St. Louis", as the Google Map declares!

What a striking view of this courthouse, Melinda.

Thanks, Mananahana, for your comments and suggestions. I think this 'misplaced' problem is a bit more complex--I think anything this close to the water on the west bank is, for some reason, lumped with the east side of the river. But I'll take a look. I had the same confusion with my own neighborhood, and haven't succeeded in getting that resolved. Somehow it has to do with the grid maps that Google uses, I think. Thanks for suggesting, tho. I may try again. --Melinda

Come to think of it, I had one photo that no matter what I tried, I couldn't place it. The program didn't accept where I wanted it to stay. When I moved the location over by about 10 feet (!), it was placed; incorrectly, I might add, and I couldn't correct it later, either.
