Thomas Telford was second in command for the Shropshire Union Canal and he is said to have lived in Ellesmere during that time. This branch of the canal ends at here Ellesmere Wharf, an up and coming area, which is, at present, being redeveloped. This old wharf may become a restaurant one day.

It looks so peaceful and rural, Amelia. I love the colour of the reflection, fading from blue to soft beige in the foreground. Somehow this just adds to the tranquillity of the scene.
