Hard to tell that with the windchill it was minus 64 celcius when I shot this.

brrrrrrrrrr!!! How long is winter? Minusca

Timothy K on May 11, 2010

Really long!! The winter temperatures are usually minus 40C and the winds are usually howling away. The summer high temperature rarely gets above plus 10C. You don't wear shorts up there.... Cheers from Winnipeg Canada //Tim

Sure you can wear shorts when you get used to it.

Timothy K on May 26, 2010

Oh I remember the weather well. I spent 10 years along the Dewline and part of the job was observing and recording on the 2322!! I still never wore shorts east of Tuk that I can remember... Cheers Tim

I have a long lost friend I'd like to get in touch with, he's from Cambridge Bay. Wilfred or Wolfred McDonald...He used to work for the airport. I knew him from Edmonton back in 1980's. If you know him, have him get in touch with me at Thanks very much Henry.

I left the north in the late 80's but it seems I remember that name. Last time we were there the airport staff was not around but I can find out if he is still there. Standby for further.

@boyoboy, I just saw this so I sent him an email.

Alan Sim on August 24, 2010

@boyoboy. Sorry it appears that email wasn't valid. Will ask his brother tomorrow or Wednesday.
