Walking on the shore, while the sun goes down, then, it comes the moment to shoot!

I understand that this one is the continuation of this one

You're right, Alex. Same old dock, different evenings.

There are some plein air painters in the area right now, demonstrating their art. When I went to the dock last night to check out the sunset, this one was at work. The sunset was undramatic, but in his big hat, the painter lent a nice touch.

As you may be able to see, Bruce, he seems to have started a new one not long before I arrived. I didn't look at it up close before I left, but I wasn't particularly drawn to what I could see. (Let me know when you've looked at the new photo, and then I'll probably delete it.)

In the background of this photo, you can see that people do come and sit and watch. Other villages on the peninsula have opportunities for evening shopping or drinking, but this one, Ephraim, has the most picturesque view (with the bluffs and the island), and good public space from which to see it. Hence just looking at the water and the sunset is the big evening activity here.

And since people who "could sit and watch ..." are generally nice people, it's a pleasant group to be part of!

The water is Green Bay. Sturgeon Bay is a bay (also part of Green Bay) that's farther south on this same (western) side of the Door peninsula, though the name is more commonly used for the town (on the bay) which is the county seat of Door County. (Does that make sense?)

And yes, there's sometimes a bit of clapping here. It's a lovely activity.

He does with his brush what we do with our camera and I agree with Bruce, Who needs TV?! because every day , all day long nature gives us a really good show! Lovely one Marilyn and don't delete the other one Marilyn , it is a complement to this one Cheers Syl

Thanks, Syl, and yes, I'll leave the other one. It does complement this. Besides, the dock wall where people have recorded their visits is sort of interesting.

Thanks, steandeb. I thought it was nice of the painter to wear that hat--just for an added touch!!
