Thank you for posting this shot, Peter! It's very beautiful and so nice to see her mate is taking care of her bringing her something to eat! Best wishes, Anne

Hi Anne

Passed this way today and no sign, it seems that within a week the eggs have hatched and taken to the water. I did see a pair out in the middle but no sign of any youngsters.

The Coot's nest nearby was also empty.

Best wishes Peter

Wow. You found a nesting pair of Great Crested Grebes. Congrats. I cannot wait for the chicks to hatch!

Hi ((Ospr3y))

I visited the site a week later and all had disappeared, also gone was a coot from a nest about 10 yards away.

As the location is within 3 yards of a public path I assume that the Grebe and the Coot would move their young away as soon as possible.

I did see a pair of Grebes in the centre of the lake, but without binoculars, and a choppy water, I could not see any youngsters.

When I pass again I will take a good look.

Best Wishes Peter
