The Parish Church of St. PETER and St. PAULS in ECKINGTON - Derbyshire is the backdrop to my picture here of two family gravestones relating to the LITTLEWOOD family of nearby RENISHAW, the left hand headstone states that 'MARY LITTLEWOOD' one of the daughters moved to 'BURLINGTON' IOWA in AMERICA, where she married and became Mrs. MARY CAMPBELL, there, she lived out her life and died on August 30th. 1889 aged 68. - After contacting fellow contributor 'ROD REEVES' via Panoramio photographs, he has most kindly carried out some local research and has located the 'CAMPBELLS' gravestone in 'ASPEN CEMETERY' in his home town of BURLINGTON, IOWA. USA. 4.030 miles away from England. The epic journey taken by people such as MARY all those years ago, must have been so hard bearing in mind the basics of travel available at the time. Thanks so much ROD for all your work,''you are a star'' from DJ / UK.
