In the spring of 1944 I was stationed here in a PB4Y (B24) crew training to sink those Nazi u-boats.At one point I went swimming in one of those ponds out there by the runways.....super salty! I didn't ever see that tree. I swore I'd never live in Florida..ha, ha, been here 15 yrs and Love it!!
