But the name of this Inn always causes an argument between myself and “she who must be obeyed.”
There is a Pub in Ward End in Birmingham that I frequented in the distant past. We always pronounced Mow as in cow, and as the north Staffordshire place Mow Cop.
Now she says it is Mow as in mow the lawn.
On another forum I asked this question and caused a heated debate!
You don’t have to comment, but the consensus seemed to create a north/south devide!
