Duevelssteen Findling

Natural Stone / Erratic in Schleswig-Holstein.

This is the mighty Duevelssteen (Devil's Stone).

Near the road from Ruckforde to Grosskönigsförde, you can find one of the biggest stones in Northern Germany.

The Duevelssteen is about 200 tons, so its almost the same size like the 'Alter Schwede' in Hamburg.

It was thrown by the devil himself to destroy the church of Gettorf. God pushed the flying stone in another direction, so only the tower was slightly hit. The church still has a leaning tower today.

Ich kenne Deinen Namen sehr gut, bin ihm oft begegnet... gerade kürzlich als ich eine Exkursion Umgebung Parchim auf GoogleEarth geplant habe. Beste Grüße zurück... Holger
