The Mein Schiff berthed at CT2 (Cruise Terminal 2) on the Admiralty Pier of Dover Harbour's Western Docks, pointing in the direction of the Western Entrance and English Channel beyond.

The photo was taken at dusk on Friday, 7th of May, 2010, from a point between the Porthole Shelters (to the right) and the Lighthouse (to the left) on the Prince of Wales Pier (western side).

After the Mein Schiff left Dover (photo to be uploaded) just after 8 pm - about 20 minutes after the above photo was taken - the ship arrived back in Hamburg on the 8th of May to particpate in the 821st Hafengeburtstag (also see Hafengeburtstag), the world's largest Port Festival and Trade Show. This is held between the 7th and 9th of May to commemorate the privileges given to Hamburg by the Emperor Frederick Barbarossa on May 7, 1189:

The Landungsbrücken landing stage was really packed from 22:00 on Saturday, with hundreds of thousands of visitors gathering for the colourful Mein Schiff fireworks display by TUI Cruises. This was a thrilling spectacle before the backdrop of the night sky over the Queen Mary 2, holding her position near the new Elbphilharmonie concert hall, and Mein Schiff of TUI Cruises, mooring to the west of Dock 11 during the fireworks display. She was built in 1996 at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany as MV Galaxy for Celebrity Cruises, and renamed Celebrity Galaxy in 2008. In May 2009 she transferred to the fleet of TUI Cruises, a joint venture between Celebrity Cruises' owner Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. and TUI AG ("Touristik Union International"). The ship was renamed MV Mein Schiff (English: "My Ship") on 15 May 2009. (2)

When in range of AIS, the vessel's current position is shown at:

MS Mein Schiff 1 Cruise Ship (MMSI 249051000)

The Automatic Identification System (AIS) is an automatic tracking system used on ships and by vessel traffic services (VTS) for identifying and locating vessels by electronically exchanging data with other nearby ships and AIS Base stations. AIS information supplements marine radar, which continues to be the primary method of collision avoidance for water transport.
