Thanks, Vuk Piper. There are some places where the stitching didn't quite work (look at the bricks in the foreground), but for the most part I like it.
This was stitched from 5 images, but first, those 5 images were made from 3 bracketed exposures each (15 photos in all) in order to extend the original dynamic range (similar to HDR) with a tonemapped result. This gives the image a little more color and detail in the sky and in the deepest shadows. It also gives the multi-exposure look to some of the tree branches.
I don't really care for the heavily tonemapped images of most HDR work, so only a discreet amount of tonemapping is used to add a bit of detail to the exposure extremes.
I believe these are ornamental crabapples.
