Esta colina fue uno de los principales lugares de resistencia de las poblaciones locales contra el dominio Inca, además, en la cima de la Loma se halla un ejemplar de "El lechero", un árbol sagrado. Este arbol es tipico de este pais, y se llama asi, por que si uno corta una pequeña rama, brota de su corte un abundante jugo de color blanco, como el de la higuera, pero muy abundante cantidad. Este sitio es visitado también porque ofrece una vista espectacular de la Laguna de San Pablo, el Volcán Imbabura y el Valle de Otavalo.
