If you look at this in "Original size", you'll see how Agate Beach in Namibia got its name.

The sand is really beautifull, though a liltle to big grains.

Cheers,

Alex

Yes,Alex, the sand is coarse. In fact, I almost called it The beautiful "sand" ... instead of The beautiful sand... But it is beautiful. I wish I'd taken more photos of it so that I'd have a choice, but this was the only one. Delete

YEs it is beautifull indeed. You can see the different colours Silicia gets.

Cheers

Hi Marilyn,

Thanks for the foto. :)

The sand brings back memories. I used to play on beaches with sand like this as a child. I love the feeling of lying in the shallow water and having the waves push me up and down on the hard sand. And it can get everywhere and not bother, unlike fine sand. The Atlantic there is a bit to cold though, I was at the Indian.

Regards

CQ

CQ, you described your memories so well I could almost feel the wave action! Thanks!

And Alex, yes, I think this one of the times when there's so much more variety in nature than we assume--until we open our eyes.

Hi Marilyn, this is a nice picture with a lot of details. Very good picture taken out of a bigger area. I like the impression I get when I see thsi picture. Everything is shiny. And it is a great symbol of the danger the coasts are in these days and the following times.

Greetings,

Carsten

BTW please take a look at this link. I think this is very intersting and will keep the imagination up.

Thanks, Carsten, for your comment and for sending the link. There's a slight mistake in the link, but I found it anyway and the chain is very interesting.

Greetings, Marilyn

Hello Marilyn, I too have been to this beach, I have in my house a small collection of agates found there, although my stay in Namibia was for professional reasons, I like to know the sites I visit.

A greeting from Vigo, Spain. José Mª
