Que preciosa foto
Que horrible casa
Don't be fooled by the thin roof, adobe and BAHAREQUE walls, This "house" is actually a Store, a Boutique in Kra 13 (and you can see the number )between 3 st and 4 st in the lower part of SAN ANTONIO - Cali - Colombia
I happen to live 1 block away - Owners of the store are from Nari~o - It's a meeting place for bohemians, artists, vegetarians, artisans and enviromentalists. The store sale Indian fabrics, imports (very expensive) like Indian saris, decor, also from Peru, Colombia, Ecuador and Bolivia organic and llama textiles, antiques from all over the world plus rare and exotique Colombian flowers.
The inside of this place is amazing, the ceiling is intrincated, original from almost 100 years ago made of..... GUADUA=Colombian bamboo or so called "GIFT of GOD" trees.
Guadua/bamboo last forever and it's beautiful. I have been looking for a contractor to do my ceilings like that.
The Store gives entrance to an array of Indoor patios with all kind of fruit trees (were colorful hammocks hang freely) you can see some tree tops in this photo. An oasis in the middle of the city and somebody happen to live there, can you imaging sleeping under this thin roof in a rainy nite? Just delightful!
Don't judge a book by it's cover... You never know..
BTW ... Did you know that city regulations prohibits any changes on the exterior facade or façade of any of this houses due to that the neigborhood, is considered part of the ARCHITECTONIC and CULTURAL PATRIMONY of the CITY of CALI???
yes, it's illegal to change anything from doors to windows etc...
you can only paint it...
Esta casa ya no es asi ya la pintaron de blanco, cambien la foto :)
Lastima,pero es una buena imágen.....saludos
