A coal mine was opened at Baggeridge at the turn of the twentieth century which was lined to the Railway near the Crooked House.

Now used as a footpath, but also for 6 to 8 weeks in the summer to transport Etruria marl from the Oak Farm Quarry to the *Baggeridge Brick Works.8
