20th Annual Lions Club Balloon Festival and Fair 2006 in Copperas Branch Park. At I-35 where it crosses Lake Lewisville in Highland Village, Texas Usually held on 3rd weekend in August but may be changing dates in 2008. Arts and Crafts Tent, Car Bash, Midway style games and some years we have a complete carnival. Balloons fire up and glow Friday evening. Balloons take off or fly over on Saturday morning and evening and again on Sunday morning. During one of those times they launch from somewhere up-wind of the park and fly over park trying to drop streamers into a large circle and then fly over trees and drop down to the lake to dip water out. The pilots and spectators love this contest!
