To my regret Amelia there are more boring matches then good ones. But there are also exciting matches and sometimes wonderful goals. But I know that a lot of people ask themselves why 22 grown men runs after a ball ans gives it a kick when they have it. Greetings Berend
There was an article in yesterday's Guardian about world cup goals, which was actually very interesting Berend. Players who have scored goals in World Cup matches talked about their feelings. Johan Neeskins commented on his goal against West Germany in 1974 (the final score was West Germany 2 - Holland 1). Also Dick Naningo scored for Holland against Argentinal in 1978.
All of the footballers concerned felt the importance and the excitement of the moment :)))
Now I think that maybe we have taken our minds off this beautiful photo, and I do hope that Ian will forgive us :))
Ian started the conversation about football Amelia, so I think he don't mind. Greetings Berend
Dear Berend and Amelia,
Thanks for your chat about football.
Conversations are very good, when people from all our different viewpoints, identities and values get together in a forum like this.
I guess by now you both know that the serious game I 'play' is peacebuilding. And I often describe it to those I am training as like a game of football (roundball footabll, that is). It requires a network of people who deliberately will make moves forward, sideways backwards, forwards, until the moment comes when the combination of places and spaces come together such that the goal is scored. It is not at all like rugby or even less like American football.
Even New Zealand are off to the World Cup now that Australia is in the Asian Group, so maybe this NZ photo doesn't mind a bit of football conversation.
And thanks for the appreciation of this photo btw.
So simple and so lovely dear Ian - like communication should be, the blue enriching the yellow, and the yellow enriching the blue. Thank you, Peacebuilder.
Warmest greetings, Maja
If you pick a bunch, make sure you pick a big bunch of blue sky to fill you room, too.
Complementarity is wonderful.
Choose any two of the following:
Bora Bora, Maohi Nui (French Ploynesia)
summit of Ngauruhoe, NZ
Lake Kutubu, PNG
Great contrast between blue and yellow!!
Thanks amitani. Such complementary colours are always a joy. Thanks for the YS too. Best wishes,
the colours make me smile.....
...the colours of joy, roeli.
