The mosque of al-Mutawakkil. To the left is the qubbah, to the right is the mosque. The qubbah was built in 1139/1726-7. The mosque was built around 1936 by the muhandis al Haymi. He made the plans directly on the earth and there were no drawings or models. It is said that Imam Yahya originally wanted a taller dome, but al Haymi refused.

It is not a mosque anymore, it is a museum.

Jeremi11, how do you know it is a museum? According to me it is still a mosque. The National Museum is to the south (to the right of this picture) and the arts and crafst museum to the north (to the left of this picture)
