Gracias, redi.

Great shot, Eve. Almost looks like an HDR tone mapped shot. Beautiful colors and textures. Do you have a photo of the rest of the mountain?

Thank you Chip. The reason I didn't post a shot of the summit of the mountain, was because this face was closer, and much more photogenic from this angle. The top of Torrey peak was probably another mile away, and even though it it is about 900 feet higher, it actually looked lower and less impressive. Also, shooting the peak at that time of day meant shooting almost directly into the sun, and there wasn't much I could do that didn't make it looked overexposed. I do have photos of Torrey Peak from that day, but they are not very good photos, so I did not post any.

Sorry Eve, that's not the North Face of Torry, you would have to hike up to Tweedy to see Torry. That's just a gnarly looking face of the ridge between the 2 mountains. See the pic's of Google earth. You marked where you took the pic properly.

Dear Shoots, I know it is not actually Torrey Peak. As I said in my comment to Chip, the actual peak is about a mile further up, but if you were able to walk this ridge, you could eventually walk up to the peak. I took this photo from close to Barb Lake.

I have now changed the name to more accurately reflect the real landform.

eveinmontana,

That is beautiful! The shape of this mountain is also interesting. Like#2. As for your photo collection, you have so many wonderful photos.
