Awkana Buddha (Rock) Statue

is this the statue at Aukana? Cos i did the same shot but can´t remember where it was. So i will place it at the same place like you

Hi Haxon,

Yep this is Aukana Buddha.Did you noticed the person who carved this statue had impressioned the tools he used to do so at the left lower side of the Buddhas robe!(not visible in this picture). By any chance did you see the original attempt to carve this Buddha?,which was apperantly abandoned at the beggining after an accidental crack!The site lies few miles down 'Kala' Wewa(Tank).

I even looked my other pics from this statue, but i can´t see any tools. And to the the rest of your mail, i´m not quite sure, if i understood you right. So the sculptor first tried to do this at another place? And someone beat him up? please explain that again, it´s very interesting.

Now i´ll to figure out where Kala Wewa is.

By the way are you from SL? Wich town or area?

I found Kala Wewa. But it confused me even more. It is some kind of water reservoir. I guess no one will do a statue i water, so...
