Manfred,Thanks a lot for your kind visit.Some information about this place: Hill of Crosses is sacredness in Lithuania, seat of pilgrimage. Represents a hill on which the set of crosses is established, their general number approximates fifty thousand. Despite of external similarity, Hill of Crosses is not a cemetery. On a national popular belief, the one who will leave on Hill of Crosses a cross, success will assist. One crucifixion has been established by Pope John II. This gesture has made to Hill of Crosses known in all Catholic world that has led to substantial growth of pilgrims visiting mountain and tourists.
