The MS Regatta berthed at CT2 (Cruise Terminal 2) on the Admiralty Pier of the Western Docks, her bow pointing in the direction of the Western Entrance and English Channel beyond.

As is usual for passenger vessels this size, the MS Regatta had originally been allocated CT1 (like the MS Saga Pearl II, for example), but probably because no-one was looking, the ship was able to sneak in to the "big boys" terminal. The Regatta had arrived at about 5.20 in the morning, and as possesion is 9/10ths of the law, I don't suppose anyone could be bothered to do anything about it by the time they woke up :)

This Dover Harbour photo was taken at 7.39 am on Wednesday, 2nd of June, 2010, from near the Lighthouse (to the left) end of the Prince of Wales Pier.

Also wandering around the harbour this day was the Morgenster Two-masted Brig, a 1919-built sailing ship which will be participating in the Aalborg to Kristiansand "cruise in company" leg of the 2010 Tall Ships Races.

The MS Regatta left Dover at 9.55 pm on a cruise whose itinerary consisted of Bruges (Belgium), Amsterdam (Netherlands/Holland), Copenhagen (Denmark), Warnemünde (Germany), Visby (Sweden), Riga (Latvia), Tallinn (Estonia), St. Petersburg (Russia), Helsinki (Finland), and finally, Stockholm (Sweden).

Previously, the MS Regatta had sailed from Barcelona on the 19th of May (the same day the Costa Atlantica arrived in Dover) and then called at Barcelona (Spain), Valencia (Spain), Algerciras (Spain; near Gibraltar), Cadiz (Spain), and Guernsey (Channel Islands) along the way.

The MS Regatta, built in 1998 and refurbished in 2003, is currently owned by Oceania Cruises; click to see the official MS Regatta webpage.
