With recent rains, the canal is full. There is probably a boat going through a higher lock or coming down the pound, thus pushing a weight of water on front of it. The extra water is gushing over the top of the gates. I have the shots at various speeds ect and the different effects are easily noticable.

Thanks Neil, all trips cancelled this weekend due to this relentless blanket of grey cloud.

Thanks for the visit Herman,

Come on KC, you have to rise to this challenge :)

Hi Amelia. Nick and I are Englishmen with a sense of fair play. Any fool can go out and take a couple of dozen pictures of bridges and post them just to win. What's the point in that. It's like playing cards with a spare pack up your sleeve. Nick has already agreed that I beat him on the score. What he has uploaded was subsequent to him running out of shots of bridges and he has already stated that he would not use new pictures just to win. He has however, been goading me rotten of which I will think of a suitable prank to pay him back.

This little Scot also has a sense of fair play ...

I hope the prank is a good one ;)

Wearing my bright yellow jacket and peaked cap with jobsworth written on it; I have to wait for days!!!!

Nick Weall on March 23, 2011

You just keep digging that hole ~ truth is you've run out of ideas :)))) (Mind you so have I, but at least I've got a couple of days to think about it :)

Five bar gates perhaps?

I can probably trump most on here with five bar gate derivatives. I can think of loads of subject matters, needless to say, all of which designed to make you struggle; but the whinger brigade on here would almost certainly have a fit if I started anew without the wait. I just wouldn't be able to take the strain of yet further castigations.

Nick Weall on March 23, 2011

I think you are right about the five bar gates KC :) ~ Send up a flare when you set a new subject and I'll see whether or not I wish to play :) ~ I'm off to bed ~
