I came to see the fence -- the finch is a wonderful bonus! I don't think we have this finch in North America. Housefinches (Carpodacus mexicanus) frequent my winter sunflower seed feeder, and Goldfinches (Carduelis tristis) are here all year for thistle seed. We also have Purple Finches (Carpodacus purpureus), but I can't tell them apart from a House Finch.

Beautiful texture in the barbed wire, stubble, and especially the ax marks on the post!
