Every hoop pine is a memorial to my childhood heroes!

I grew up in a sawmill that milled hoop pine logs, and the mill made my heroes: Mr C Wesley Lutton, Mr Doug Krogh and my dad, Rob Stehbens.

The Forestry made heroes like Mr Miller and Mr Gardiner.

The Railway made heroes like Mr Skillen.

These trees are lined up as distinguished memorials. Memorials to the foresters, mill managers, and railway station masters who led the industry that created our town, our community, our home. And the forest is a memorial to the many men and women who planted, protected, researched, managed, felled, transported and milled the hoop pine trees, natives of the area.
