It's a great place. Walk clockwise round the island for 10 minutes to get breakfast. Walk anti-clockwise for 10 minutes to get dinner. Same place, 2 great views!
This is a great shot. Do you do 360 panoramas? If so then you can display them easily on Panoramic Earth. Would be great to hear form you.
Thanks Peter. I haven't tried a 360 yet - all the panoramas on here with the exception of the Welsh lake are hand-held. I can twist pretty far (one or two are over 180 deg) but not all the way round :)
I have done hand held 360's. This one from Le Louvre in Paris was one such. Have found that the trick is to use the ball of one foot as the center point for the panorama and then rotate on that on the spot. Then hold the camera lens kind of over your foot (means you lean back a bit) so as to keep as near to the central point as possible.
Some stitching software copes quite well with the results, though it can take a while to put them together. Maybe you could try it one day. At least that way you don't tie your guts in a knot and break your back! ;)
That's a great shot Peter, thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try some time.
Very nice! I have a panorama of Funafuti Atoll, Tuvalu at http://www.tuvaluislands.com/2005/panorama1.html TIDC
Thanks Brian, that's a very nice panorama - I like the map you included too.
