The previous upload of this was edited at night and consequently (due to a bright screen) it came out much too dark :( Now, there's something new I've learned :)

Although I was happy with this in colour, it seems that it's deep within me to pick out scenes that, in my opinion, work well in b&w.

I'm a bit sad that I clipped the edge of the fence, though :(

Hope you all like it :)

Thanks d&h - my afternoon / evening session at Bantham beach came up with more than the usual proportion of 'keepers' - which was nice!

And I've got a lot of time on my hands right now for the digital darkroom...

..I've still got four or five to do... watch this space :)

Have you compared your image pre & post upload? I have noticed a few of my images that the act of uploading will change the image. Seems to me that they mostly go darker. Anyhow a great set of monochrome images. What are you using for your conversions?

Hi Don, thanks for the props :)

To answer your question... in this case, if anything it's maybe a tiny bit lighter. It's certainly sharper (I'm looking at 'original size' for comparison). Cheers

Thanks artwall, wx and Melkan. I was well pleased with this - apart from clipping the fence.

I did have another taken from a slightly different angle and I used a thin sliver of that one to correct the clipping.

A very nice shot! It reminds me to that time I only made momochrome with own darkroom. Greetings from Joerg

Glad you liked it, Joerg :) I can still remember the slightly pungent, acidic smells of my school's (wet) darkroom, all those years ago :)
