Very well captured! These herons are such shy birds. You have caught the perfect moment. Good details on the head and plumage, and a lovely natural setting :)

I have become very interested in the wildlife which I can photograph almost anywhere around me. The problem is I am terribly ignorant in birdlife so whilst I can identify many of the "makes", I am not so good with the "models" if you see what I mean. I am going to have to spend some time in our local bird sanctuary as there is only so far you can go with books.

Top shot. I like it a lot. I do a lot of bird pics myself. You get to learn the common species very quickly through photography.
