Thanks British! I couldn't go inside unfortunately :(
I think it's used as a conference centre or something similar nowadays, but could be wrong. Not keen on modern stuff myself either, but it's worth going along the path beside the Tees just to see the banks of wild flowers. I wanted somewhere to photograph butterflies, moths and wild flowers. I wasn't disappointed.
