Nadiakushnir, I appreciate your sorrow and thank you heartily, although I don't live in L'Aquila. Be assured that these walls, and most other monuments DID NOT FAIL! In Italy, unfortunately, earthquakes are quite common, and if the monuments had to fall, they would have fallen since many centuries. The monuments that exist, exist because they have survived already many earthquakes.
