Magical Rainbow for Virginia Barrett Ryan Memorial

On a beautiful Colorado day in June we gathered over 30 members of our extended family from 3 continents to honor the grand matriarch, Virginia Barrett Ryan, who had died the year before at 97. In the year before she died, she would watch from her window to the Red Rock in the distance as the day passed and the moon rose over the rocky ridge on the left. She loved the open space, and the Red Rock in the distance. And, she told us she wanted her ashes to be spread out by the Red Rock as her final resting place. On the day of the family gathering, a magnificent rainbow appeared over the rock. Like no other rainbow we had ever seen in this valley over the last 18 years, it was the most magnificent rainbow and it lasted for 45 minutes, as marked by the time stamp of my camera. It was a fitting tribute to a wonderful woman on the day of her family memorial to honor her life!
