It is hard to believe that one family called this house home! That they celebrated holidays, had family dinners, talked about ordinary things at those tables and slept in those beds. That they invited friends to stay, sometimes for months at a time, and enjoyed their company. It is sad that the Mr. Vanderbilt only lived a short time. But his family still finds time to come to the house and have Christmas parties for the employees, just as the family did so many years ago. I pray that the Cecils will be able to keep the house in the family for generations to come!
