The Haven Seafield is owned by Red7Marine (a provider of offshore, coastal and estuarial subsea engineering and marine construction) who describe it as a "Flat Top Spud Leg Barge". The legs are optional extras and not required for the barge's current employment.

The Haven Seafield is in Dover Harbour to assist the Waasland Sea Barge and the Gaverland Sea Barge (both owned by Herbosch Kiere Marine Contractors) in removing the wreck of the Spanish Prince (see the sonar image), a blockship scuttled in early 1915 during the First World War.

The containers on the barge belong to the Nationwide Metal Recycling company. Once these containers have been filled with bits and pieces of the Spanish Prince at the wreck site by the CAT excavator (Caterpillar Tractor Company) on the Waasland's side pontoon, the Haven Seafield is pushed to the Jetfoil Basin by the Sarah Grey workboat (aka tug or multicat) for unloading.

The above photo was taken at 5.15 pm on Monday, 5th of July 2010, and shows an empty container being lowered back on to the Haven Seafield from a crane located on the Admiralty Pier of Dover Harbour's Western Docks. The crane is sited adjacent to the red-bricked Cruise Terminal 1 (CT1) building which was once Dover's Marine Railway Station ("Marine Station"). Because of the time of day, I imagine the transfer of containers won't be completed until the following morning whereupon the Sarah Grey will push the Haven Seafield back to the wreck site once more.

The Rust-covered remains of the Spanish Prince photo shows the Haven Seafield on location and also contains an account of the history of the Spanish Prince (and other info).
