This is the propellor from HMCS Sackville. Being bronze, it was removed to slow any erosion of the sacrificial anodes on the hull. These anodes in turn prevent erosion of the hull due to galvanic action.

Sackville is at the foot of Sackville St. in Halifax and plans are in place to preserve this ship, out of water and in a new complex at this site.
