I like this one Marilyn. Fall is my favorite time of year and walking in the woods and breathing in the smell of newly fallen leaves is the best! The sunlight on the moss is a very nice touch!

Thanks, Bruce. I love being in the woods at that time of year, but I've found it hard to catch the feeling in a photo. I think the openness of these woods helped. (Incidentally it's Canada's largest remaining stand of Carolinian forest.)

do you go to pick up mushrooms there ?

Marilyn Whiteley, on December 1, 2007, said:

It was a dry autumn and there were no mushrooms. And this is too far from home to go regularly for mushrooms, but I bet it is a good place. There certainly were other things in those woods.

Lovely photo! Is it by any chance in Backus Woods? I hiked there a few years ago and this photo brings back nice memories. Greetings, Irene, St. Catharines.

Yes, Irene, you're exactly right. What a wonderful place! Greetings, Marilyn
