For those who have never been to Panama City, this is the old down town, and attempts to revitalize the area is on going. This area is relatively quiet, and reminiscent of the late 1970's- mid 80's. Mom & pop, music, clothing, the marina, and an antique store or two, make the area a worthwhile venture.
The younger crown will likely fancy the more modern areas of the city on either side of 23rd street. That area is home to the area mall, eateries, big box and grocery stores, communication/electronic shopping, etc..
Pier Park on Panama City Beach, offers everything above and more, and the best part is that its all (including the beach and brand new pier_2009) within walking distance. Multiple eateries, large movie theatre, nice department stores, beer house, grocery, live entertainment, great food, outdoor dining, coffee.. and the beach just across the street from it all.
Come and enjoy what the greater Panama City area has to offer!
