beautiful isolated castle!
Thanks. I did not take the photos on the following link but you can see lots more photos of the Wyntoon village at the following link.
I've been to the Hurst complex a few times and wondered if you where allowed in, or if you walked along the river?
We paddled our kayaks up to the Bend Castle and got out on a gravel bar in the river. We did not go in. I would have been happy to see more of the buildings from a distance - the place is so magical - but the strong current prevented it. We did walk on the bank opposite the castle and got a few more pictures.

GREAT PHOTO, THANKS...I was at Wyntoon when I worked in Pondosa (1956-60)...TOM from SF and Vietnam
I envy you. I love that place and would enjoy seeing more. It appears my only option might be to become a Class IV white water kayaker so that I can travel by Wyntoon from upriver. And Tom, thank you for serving in the military and risking your life. I appreciate your sacrifice. I know it must have cost you dearly in many ways.

THANKS for this comment...I also envy you because I drove to Wytoon, rather than by kayak. FYI, I lived in Vietnam for 7 years (1966-72) on a DOD contract.
