Hello Marilyn! I agree with Bruce - this is a magnificent picture! I love the light and the colours! Cheers, Anne
Thanks, Bruce and Anne. We were heading for a concert when I saw that this church--which we pass several times a day--was ripe for a photo. Some of my quick shots were marred by a raindrop on the lens, and it rained heavily about three minutes later. Yes, Bruce, in fact you're see the window that cast the reflection, but there's some exterior protection on it so it doesn't look like stained glass.
Greetings Marilyn, What a marvelous old church. The corner stone of so many rural and agrarian communities. Thanks for sharing.
Nice picture, beautiful light.
Wish you a great day.
Fantastic colours MArilyn, you did get the heavy cludy sky along with some late afternoon sun colour on the church, great photo.
Thanks Rich, Anne, and Alex.
This church really has been the corner stone of the community. The village was founded in 1853 by a group of Norwegian emigrants who were members of the Moravian Church. They built the central part of this structure five years later.
Fantastic how you got this last beam before the storm. Cheers Daniela
Thanks, Daniela. I almost left my camera at home. I'm very glad I didn't!
Thanks, Greti. It was the light just before the rain.
Perfect contrasts capture! This view can be equally good in B&W or in Sepia too.
Nice postcard. Good work! :)
Very well captured this church ,beautiful contrast ,well done.
Thanks, Arthur, Wallace, and (very belatedly) Ainars. I was very lucky, and caught it moments before the rain began! Marilyn
