Really a magical place, Ian and a very interesting photo. I´ve never heard about this track before though it must be quite famous and important to get the status of a World Heritage. Great! Greetings from Germany, Peter

I am very pleased that you enjoyed this image, Peter. It is one of the tracks in the Blue Mountains National Park. BMNP is UNESCO listed. It is only an hour west of Sydney and Sydney's commuter suburbs now reach right into the mountains. In the photo location panel you will see how close this is to these commuter urban areas. I think that one of the contributing factors to the "interestingness" (to use an awful Flickr word) is that the timbers on the track are over-sized giving the impression that the overhang roof is lower than it actually is. In replying, I haven't yet had a look at your photography but will immediately. I love Germany's rural and urban landscapes and I have some German ancestral roots. Best wishes, Ian

Hello,Jan thank you for the additional explainations to this shot and for visiting my gallery. You are right concerning my favour to winter but it´s the change of seasons that makes the year interesting here and gives a lot of opportunities to take photos with very different moods. Greetings and best wishes to Australia, Peter

The picture is taken in an interesting angle, so it looks a bit steeper than it is... well done!

I liked the blue mountains. The nature is great. i didn´t do this track, but i climbed the steps at the back of the "Three Sisters" - nearly thousand, hard work...

Thanks for sharing!

Greetings from Bavaria, Andreas

Thanks for your visit and I am pleased that you enjoyed your visit to the Blue Mountains. Three days ago I was back on this magical track with a group of women from Fiji, and they loved it too. I trust the winter is kind to you, or the kind of winter you enjoy most in Bavaria. We have had a wonderful early summer so far with excellent rains, though there have been some wild hailstorms in some places, with hail the size of tennis balls and considerable damage to roofs, cars and windows in some areas nearby. But we appreciate the rain, the most. There is plenty of water over the Katoomba Falls and Wentworth Falls at present. Ian

Hallo Ian!!! Secluded place!

As now weather in Australia?

Ian Stehbens, on March 27, 2009, said:

Hi Bulbas,

This is a secluded place, beneath the cliffs. I love it. You must walk here one day.

Here in Sydney today (10am) it is 21C, and is expected reach 25C this afternoon. Humidity 68%. Breeze 10kph from SW. Scattered cloud, clearing to blue skies. Perfect weather, I think.

Ian
