Thanks again Steve!

The shot was taken from a little fishing boat as we were just setting off to look for whales. We did see one, but no spectacular photo I'm afraid.

Best Wishes Peter

Hi Vadim and BEDRİ AKÇAY

I am happy that you both like it. Thank you. Unfortunately the little boat which I was on failed to spot anthything other than one little whale that night.

Best Wishes Peter

Thank you Diggory, for your visit, and your thoughtful words. Yes, the harbour was calm, but not so when we got out to sea! And, yes, there are not many places further north. This is just about on the arctic circle.

Best Wishes Peter

Greetings Peter..I arrive here via the link you left on my whale photo!! Sorry for the late reply!

This shot has all the right ingredients for me..unusual location, maritime theme, gorgeous skies and boats!! The harbour appears to be well sheltered from the northerly winds which often occur in those parts...

Nice work Peter

Hi Jim,

Thanks for visiting my humble little holiday shot of these whale boats, and for your appreciation. You are so right about the harbour being sheltered. Out on the sea the waves were crashing over the bows, but back into harbour, all was calm again. Hot chocolate and donuts all round! Best wishes Peter
