Very pretty setting. I like the red rock of central Australia. It's kind of like our southwest.
Just saw your new collection hank, l made a similiar comment on how your pictures reminded me of uluru :)
Hi Rosina. I was at Uluru back in the early 90's, and in fact I climbed it along with my jackrabit son who was about 17 at the time. He beat me to the top by a healthy margin, and when I got there I found he had signed the book for me (in case I didn't make it). Yep, I crossed it out and signed for myself. I just love red rock country wherever it is.
Nice shot, Rosina! The reds and greens complement each other very well, and give a nice contrast to the sky. And I agree with Hank, this scene looks very similar to something I might have seen in Arizona.
Very nice Rosina! Do you know what kind of minerals making the rock red?
Greetings from Norway!
Not sure, l know it is made up of sandstone, some sort of granite which is usually grey but with weathering the surface becomes a red colour.
Ok.. then I think maybe the mineral is Hematite, and it´s iron making it red.
Thanks for the info!
