There's a crack in the ceiling, Bitsy!

Good one. If you view this full size, you can see the braches of the lightning all over the sky.

Thanks Norrel! and you inspired me to change the title!

This was the prettiest lightning storm I think I've ever seen. Sooo frustrating that this was the only bolt I caught. There was a lot of lightning running along the bottom of that low cloud, branching out and ending in little sparkler-like flares. Loads of people caught the storm with their cell phone cameras. But me? only this one shot!

Bits have no fear your not the only one of a whole storm i got nothing, somebody does not like me. what a great shot up big, ears still ringing. steve

Nicely caught!!

Take a pat on the back for using a proper camera rather than a phone camera.

Bits-n-Pieces on July 22, 2010

Thanks Steve and geomancer! It's nice to have pride in not using a cell phone, but all those people who did have tons of shots, and their photos are on all the news stations and all over the web! LOL, the problem with trying to do things right!

Very nice!!

Bits-n-Pieces on July 22, 2010

Thanks Ippa - It was a really cool storm! But the lightning was so close along the underside of all the clouds, Dianne wouldn't have been safe even under the bed!

Cracker of a shot Bits.

Bits-n-Pieces on July 23, 2010

Thanks Guy! After hearing the big boom of thunder, I knew just when to click to get the flash of light!

Hey! I wasn't born yesterday you know!

not1word on July 24, 2010

Your lightning goes up! That's a pretty cool shot, Bits. You are now on my preferred list.

Amelia Royan on July 24, 2010

Lovely capture Bits - stunning light and perfect moment :))

Bits-n-Pieces on July 26, 2010

Many thanks to you very muchly for the honor of being on you preferred list Mr. Word! yeah - it was a strange storm. The lightning was from the low clouds - either running along the bottom of the clouds, or shooting up. It was sure fun to watch!

Thanks so much Amelia! I wish all thunderstorms were like this one. Dry until the gust front gets to you, low, and as you can see from the sunset sky visible through the rain, fairly brief!

I did Vote even though I hopped under the bed when I first saw it. :)

Bits-n-Pieces on August 1, 2010

Thanks Dianne! We'll get you out there being a storm chaser yet!

You have another vote. Now come on Diane, get out from under the bed :))

marcopera on August 5, 2010

Amazing capture, VOTED!

Greetings, Marco

Bits-n-Pieces on August 5, 2010

LOL Amelia! Isn't it funny how Dianne would rather risk being a snack for all the monsters under the bed than be in a nice safe car watching a great storm? Thanks for the Vote!

And many thanks for your votes and nice comment tu-quoque and Marco!
