Brownsea Island, at low tide, Deer wade across the divide from the mainland
Deer have been seen regularly swimming across between the mainland (in the distance) and the island at low tide to graze on the lush greenery.
This is also virtually the only safe habitat for Red Squirrels in Southern England. The Isle of Wight have a few - but here you can walk in the wood and actually see them close up!
