Thanks, John. I have quite a few shots similar to this one. The river turns sharply in several location near the Blue Water Bridge, so the freighters are forced to follow the deepest channel, hence this position facing me. The freighters draw about 40 feet (approx. 12 m), so no room for errors. The lake freighters do not need a pilot, but ocean-going freighters are required to take on a pilot in Detroit to get into Lake Huron.
