Un abrazo, May

Omar, many thanks for your lovely comments! It's the typical style for traditional houses of this region. As I have written above to Paco, there are many quarries in this region with limestones and granite. Best wishes, May

Hi May. When you took this picture you must have had your back to the Youth Hostel run by the Youth Hostels Association (YHA). I spent one night there during Easter 1960 on the way back from North Wales by bicycle. I had biked on that particular day from Delamere Forest youth hostel near Chester. The next day was a fairly easy ride back to Upper Swaledale by way of Settle and Hawes. I have just uploaded another fifty plus photos taken in Ontario between North Bay and Bracebridge, mainly for the benefit of cyclists.

Regards, Denis Baldwin

Hi Denis, thanks a lot! I am very pleased to hear from you, and more so that you bring back my memory to my last big journey in North England. I loved it no matter how much it rained, at least when I had my car.

I had nearly passed this place, when I noticed the post office, so I went back for a photo, because the girl in me simply loves those old post offices with stores, they are magic. :)

Also the beautifully worked stone houses with the slate roofs catch my admiration.

See you in your gallery!

Warm regards,

May
