Comment by ?: This is where the Ozone Hotel was located. I think the park located next door is/was called Ozone Park. Unfortunately, it was demolished to make way for this half-round building belonging to Woodside Petroleum. Too many of these old buildings were lost to concrete and glass.

The Ozone Hotel was designed by George R Johnson architect for S. H. Parkin MLC and constructed in 1897. Originally the building had another floor of accommodation within a mansard roof and a centre tower. These elements had been removed by the time this image was taken. SLWA image nos. 226572PD & 041232PD show how the hotel originally looked.
