Here is something about that headland you may not know.

On the other side of the headland is the town of Oceanside. If you park you car at the beach access lot in town and walk about a 1/2 mile north toward the headland you'll find a tunnel leading to a secluded beach on the otherside where you can get some good shots of the sea stacks at the base of the headland. beware that the area on that side is subject to high tides.

As Michael pointed out there is nice beach walking nearby, and a great place to eat, Roseanna's Oceanside Cafe. They don't take reservations, but the wait is worth it. One of the best meals we had on our trip.
