Hello mate. I see that the fortifications are not alien to you! Perfect. I am going to
summer, to Belgium and Holland and is looking for interesting forts and bunkers. Great photos. Regards.
if you are interested in fortifications, fortresses and bunkers, then the Netherlands is the place to go. There are still many remnants or intact city walls from the 17th to the 19th centuries, several nearly intact lines of fortifications such as the New Dutch Waterline and the Line of Amsterdam and many bunkers from Hitler's Atlantic Wall and the IJssel Line, built against the Soviet Union in the 1950's. In Belgium, remnants are scarce and if something is survived the neglect and disinterest (such as the fortresses around Antwerp) they are usually severely ruinous or dilapidated. I would certainly advice a stopover in the Dutch Fortress Museum in Naarden.
in addition to wat i just wrote (and a correction), the citadel of Namur, Belgium is very impressive and definately worth a visit.
