The "Courier" arrived in Rosebud after a 2,300 mile trip from Cairns in North Queensland. It had a regular timetable between Melbourne's Station Pier, Portarlington, Rosebud, Mornington and Frankston. Unfortunately, one of the A-88 Hovercraft's main engines blew up after a few weeks of operation. The cost of repairs and the lack of ticket sales brought the option of "Flying the Bay" by Hovercraft to a close. The concrete helipad on the Rosebud Beach was broken up and removed.
