Actually (april 2009) the shore is 200 m. apart from the showers : the Dead Sea is lowering month by month, leaving a dangerous deep muddy area where waters were just one year ago. The road itself (see air-foto) was built on the shoreline some 20 years ago. Now it's nearly 1 mile apart.
